About Porsche Design

Our Heritage. A story of time and zeitgeist.

In 1963, Prof. F. A. Porsche created the 911, one of the most iconic sports cars in history. In 1972, he founded the exclusive lifestyle brand Porsche Design and designed another icon: the Chronograph I, the world’s first all-black wristwatch, whose design was directly derived from the dashboard of the 911. Since 2014, Porsche Design has been crafting mechanical timepieces in its watch manufactory in Switzerland, combining motorsport DNA with the Swiss art of watchmaking. The handcrafted “sports cars for the wrist” blend innovative technology, functional and timeless design, and high- quality materials like leather used in Porsche sports cars and titanium tried and tested in motorsports. Additionally, all movements are COSC-certified.
